Hello all!

This is a bit unexpected I suppose, but I just wanted to say hello. My name is Katie and I was a student from Nova Scotia who travelled to your community with a group from Vermont's Sterling College in the spring of 2005. A while ago, Dr. Kati Osgood Dana gave me this link to your website and I check in every now and again to see what everyone is up to. I am happy you are all doing well! I wonder if I ever had the chance to thank you properly for the wonderful time we had, and the warm community that welcomed us. With any luck, someday I might be able to visit again. If anyone feels like visiting Nova Scotia, I suggest you come for a cup of tea at my house and let me return the favour.

Best wishes,

Katie Beaton

To whom it may concern,

My name is Evi Liang, I’m a digital consultant at Hill & Knowlton, and on behalf of WebbliWorld, wanted to invite you to take part in their blogger relations programme.

www.WebbliWorld.com is a vibrant, interactive and highly animated virtual world for children, designed and developed in association with Aardman animations. It was launched was recently launched and we would appreciate your feedback if you feel it does provide a safe online playground for children. Your input is valuable to us as WebbliWorld will be using your recommendations for development of phase 2.

The website is currently running a competition and has fun educational games available where you and the children will have the opportunity to win prizes from Puffin Books and WWF. You can also read what the owners, Justine & Camilla have to say about the safety of children online by viewing their blog http://webbliworld.typepad.com. They would love your input and any suggestions you may have.

Look forward to hearing from you, we are very excited about the opportunities WebbliWorld has to bring to the virtual world for children!

Kind regards,
Evi

The best way to see the islands is either from the sea or from the air. The road tends to go straight up the middle often missing out the coast which is often the most scenic part of our islands. As a TV programme, 'Coast' was quite good, but then I'm a fan! The old herring stations are still visible around Baltasound. Interesting connections with the Swedish fishermen in the past, too.

Did you see Coast on Saturday. I was fascinated to see what happened in Baltasound when thousands of people arrived there for the herring catch. And the film of Unst from the air was very interesting indeed. Now I have a much clearer idea of what it looks like.

You all look like real gardening experts, I'll need to come in for some lessons! I think this is a brilliant thing for bairns to learn, especially when they don't have green-fingered parents at home.
