Buildings, Breaststroke, Bluebells and Birthday

Posted by: rainbowlightschool | March 27, 2007 |

The new man in charge of our school buildings and his deputy called along the school  this morning in order to become familiar with places and faces. He says that next time he will have his boilersuit on and get his hands dirty.

Then on to an early start at the swimming pool for the annual swimming gala when all the primary classes for three schools are teamed up for the gala. Our pupils performed well in what was declared a successful event.

In the afternoon, we went to Nordale, the local care centre, to plant the bluebells  dug up when preparing the site of our greenhouse at the school.  We always try to leave time to say hello to the old folk. Today it was a special occasion so we sang happy birthday to one of the ladies. Sophie and Michael helped blow out the candles. Every candle represented ten years. (A good lesson there in place value!) We all had a piece of chocolate cake before heading back to join the school bus home.
