Shetlanders have never been known for their exaggeration so when the natives visiting the school make comments like, ‘Kinda windy’, ‘Brawly weet’, ‘Yun wis some shooer’, then you know that the weather is noteworthy, to say the least. It did not stop the pupils from playing outside in the playground. Rainbow colours certainly brighten up a day like today. During the quiet time after an energetic lunch break, we could really hear all the creeks and groans of the wooden classroom in the wind!

In view of the weather we are having in the South of Scotland - which I expect is not as bad as in Shetland - I hope Mrs Coutts’ journey to Orkney was uneventful!
I am glad to hear that you are hardy souls in Uyeasound.

The last I heard, Mrs C. was checked in and ready to fly. Uneventful? Probably not given the weather!
