Well 4 hours after setting off Mrs COutts got to Herrislea House Hotel for the Environmental Awards. The award was presented by Dennis COutts ,a local photographer and bird watcher. The surround for the award was made from resin and Unst serpentine cast in a mould from a 200 year old ship’s clock,The centre was from steel recycycled from Shetland Catch ’s old processing equipment. A worthy trophy which will join our previous award in 2004 just inside the main door of the school.
Meanwhile back at the ranch the ratcatchers returned. The poison under the floor has all gone so hopefully have the rats but they will check again next week .They replaced the poison blocks just in case.We will need to make sure they are paid after all ratcatchers that don’t get paid come back for the children.
The school is looking for donations of unwanted Barbies, Kens and action men plus clothes etc for after Christmas.
Filsket’s Shetland Story telling CD is now on sale at the school for £11.Anyone wanting a copy should give us a phone or call along.
