Windmills

Posted by: rainbowlightschool | December 7, 2006 |

It is a horrible wet dark day.We had no music because our teacher’s granny died and she has had to go away to the funeral.Thankfully we had agreed not to do a concert this Christmas. It is times like this you realise how far away Shetland is.

The girls in the Brownies have left early to sing Christmas Carols to the Old Folk and then go to their Peerie knitters Club.Lauren is going on the boat to her oldest sisters graduation. What a good role model to see!

The girls are also fund raising for their netball club and having a fun tournament day in the neighbouring island of Yell on Sunday. They have under 13s teams ,under 15 teams and ladies teams going.SHould be some day.

We looked at the proposed Viking Energy wind farms on the internet.WOAH!!!Well we will not see them from Unst but take a look and see how it changes the landscape of Northern Shetland.

P1-4 are making a Christmas tree out of hand prints with Anna. Our lower room is looking very festive.

In June we took part in the John Muir wild places relay baton  race and we have been told today we are getting certificates for our efforts.

We Upgraded our Blogger ‘Blog’ and lost all our template savings - so all the ‘Blogs We Like’ links disappeared in one click of a mouse!

We’ll add them all again soon, but it’s nice to have found your blog again … google searches are great - ‘light school shetland’ was all that was required.

The weather description you gave seems wintery and cold - just like Falkirk’s tonight!

Just clicked the ‘Viking Energy’ link - great!
