Drums

The local rep for Traidcraft arrived today with your new drums, a karamo and a djemba. They were soon in use along with the didgeridoo.

Today has been what we call in Shetland, a day atween wadders, the lull after and before the storm with no wind and unbroken sunshine. Not a day to be inside so we have been measuring a neighbour’s greenhouse so that we can plan our one. Lots of number crunching tomorrow.

The new house now has a roof.  A digger was spreading scalpings before the house over the gutter left after a combination of heavy rain and heavy trucks.

A local farmer caaed kye along the road passed the school, always worth watching especially when a coo left a runny calling card on the grass outside the gate! Hilarious!

This looks like great fun! The only didgeridoo I’ve ever heard played was years ago on the Rolph Harris programme on TV!!

I’ve never been to any of the Shetland Islands and I enjoy sharing your posts with the pupils in my class.
