Yes, we have won an environmantal awards for our work improving the playground.  The hard work by everyone involved brightens our day every time we walk into school. It is good to have others also say “Wow!” when they see it.

We are missing Max in the school. He headed off to a warmer climate at the weekend. We hope to keep in contact with him when he is back in Australia.

Hail showers and a cold wind today so we are watching the forecast for Thursday when we are due to travel to Lerwick for a special indoor sports event for small schools. Watch this space!

Mrs Coutts and Mrs Priest had two days of training last week in Lerwick. On Thursday morning, Mrs Coutts  led a session called ‘The Reflective Practitioner’. In the afternoon, they both led a session about the Rainbow Light School. Other teachers were inspired to go back to their schools and try out some of the activities we do here. Over the weekend Mrs Coutts helped to deliver another two days of training for teachers about coaching and mentoring. A busy schedule. It’s good to have her back in school today in one piece!

Fantastic news about the award. You must all be so proud of yourselves and appreciative of all the help and support you have received from the local community.

Enjoy your playground…….when the weather permits!! Our temps are getting up into the early 20’s here now.

People in Dunedin (in the Sth Island) are really fascinated at the moment by 3 huge icebergs that have made their way up to NZ from Antartica. They have been on the move for over 5yrs and the ice is thousands of years old. It is most unusual.
