Back to reality

Posted by: rainbowlightschool | November 1, 2006 |

First day of the new term and winter has arrived with a vengence. The holidays brought the first of the winter gales and storm damage.

If the weather is bad enough to stop the dinner car reaching us the pupils would be sent home.If the dinner car can’t make it neither can the school taxi.We always have to keep an eye on the weather.

Everyone seems to be back to normal and we settled in very quickly to school routine. We have a new pupil Max Bird from Lane Cove School in New South Wales has joined us for a few weeks while his family are home for a wedding.

You will enjoy having Max with you for a few weeks. He will be fascinated by life on Unst. I’m sure it is very different to his life in Australia.

Thanks for the information about the dinner car. I guess you would have to keep a very close eye on the weather. Imagine being caught at school and having to stay there for a few days!!

Did you see the All Blacks beat England? We have great sporting competition with Australia and usually support any team that beats Australia!! You had better not tell Max that!

Have a good term at school.

Barbara
