Phoenix Gold & School Boards

Posted by: rainbowlightschool | September 27, 2006 |

The day started with a mjor hic up! Hazel had to be called in to help.Computer problems meant our Scot Xed return was dodgy.Hazel and Gail in Lerwick soon had it sorted.Hazel doesn’t let Mrs Coutts near it.Nice one Hazel.

The library van stopped today and pupils and staff trooped out to replenish their reading material. This is an essential service for all of us in small rural communities. We might be getting a new community library in Unst.

A school board meeting after school. What a delight! For the first time in many years we were not discussing the threat of closure. We set the occassional holidays and highlighted the blog.Even Up-Helly-Aa got a mention.

A library van is certainly important for small rural communities. We have one here in Tauranga for the elderly, sick, young families, etc who are unable to get into the library.

Really glad to hear that your school board will not be discussing the threat of closure. Hopefully that means you will be there to stay for a long time.

There is the community library open on Monday nights at BJHS. I think quite a few people use it but the more people that know about it the better for justifying its existence.
