IST , Archaeological dig and Buddhist Peace garden all in one day

Posted by: rainbowlightschool | August 22, 2006 |

While Mrs Coutts was away in Whiteness delivering In Service Training on the new Curriculum for Excellence the rest of us went to the Easting. Here we visitted the archaeologists who are up from Glasgow Uni.They are excavating a Iron Age house. We have been working with them for the past 2 years.Last year was really exciting as they found a body and brought her to the school.

In the afternoon we worked on our Buddhist Peace garden. We are getting ready to open it on the 3rd of September.Today we were placing sand and 1 ton of broken glass into the area.DOn’t worry the glass is specially treated and cannot cut, honest.

We did do some work ,like maths and reading …………

Once we get the hang of this blog business we will get photographs on.If you can help us with that let us know.

It must have been interesting visiting the archaeological dig. I saw the Viking ship that is on Unst when I was visiting in July. Imagine travelling long distances in a boat like that. I am looking forward to seeing some of the photos once you get them on the site. I would love to see the Buddist garden. I saw the huge bags of glass you had. I hope the weather is kind to you for the opening on 3 Sept.
